The Samaritans, one of the world’s smallest organized religious communities, pray on Mount Gerizim during the holiday of Shavuot. Currently numbering 750 people, half in the village of Kiryat Luza next to Mount Gerizim in the West Bank and the others in Holon near Tel Aviv in Israel, the Samaritans pilgrimage up Mount Gerizim three times a year, on this occasion to mark the anniversary of the day God gave the Torah to the Israelites on the mountain.
