These portraits were made for the annual commemoration of the 1906 earthquake held at Lotta’s Fountain every April 18th. I really enjoyed this project. All the survivors were infants with the exception of Chrissie Mortenstein – she was 9 years old at the time and vividly recalled the fire burning the city for several days.
